Crankpot MC Step-Up TrAnsformer
Custom Crankpot ST-1C is a specially designed unit to maintain audiophile grade sound transparency. Our MC Step-up Transformer is a result of hours of focused listening to black vinyl while verifying various configurations of different transformers with divergent materials designed to shield the sensitive electronic equipment. Neither the wires, RCA sockets, isolation of the housing nor the material with which the box is made was chosen randomly.
ST-1C is equipped with a pair of custom handwound transformers developed to use the amorphous magnetic circuit and massively shielded against static or low-frequency magnetic fields. The elements selected and tested with highest precision are placed in a handcrafted wooden box. The inside of the housing is layered with a cooper foil in order to protect the item completely from the static and non-static electric fields – known as the Faraday’s cage. Thereby the main facet of our MC Step-up Transformer is its lack of characteristics facilitating the uncontaminated amplification of the signal to ensure an ideal reproduction of the originally recorded sound.
